I would retest. If it is still negative, call your doctor. Let them know that your period is over a month late and that you took the test but it was neg. You may be experiencing a very early miscarriage of pregnancy that does not show on a pregnancy test because your hormone levels ore too low. Either way, you need to see a doctor.
Good luck!

I would take the test again, but choose a different brand and read the directions carefully, just in case.
Whether it comes out positive or negative, you definitely need to see a doctor.
Home pregnancy tests are more likely to be wrong if they come out negative than if they come out positive... they tend to err on the side of caution.
However, there are other serious conditions that could cause a missed period. Not to worry you or anything, but the sooner you see a doctor for something like that, the better.
If it turns out you are pregnant, then congrats!
Another thing to ask yourself: are you having any pregnancy symptoms other than the missed period? (Puking, nausea, exhaustion, change in hunger patterns, etc.) None of these symptoms definitely mean that you are pregnant, but the chances are probably better that you are if you have any of them.
Hope that helps!

It could actually be a sign of both being pregnant or starting your period. It is normal to have a light period or to just spot during a normal period. However, it is also a sign of pregnancy. I would go to your local health department and they can do a quick test that will tell you for sure. I wouldn't depend on OTC tests as you can always have a false negative.

Maybe you took the pregnancy test too early to detect, try taking another one or visit a clinic for a test. Good luck.

well, when did you take the first test? you should take another one, cause if you're pregnant, now it would be atleast a month along so you should be able to take another test. if its still negative go see a dr, you might be lacking something and its causing your period to stop, stress can do that too.

don't worry about it. it's normal. sometimes girls don't get their periods for a couple months, and then get them again regularly. It happens! If you were under a lot of stress recently, your period could be delayed... and there are other reasons for irregularity like an unhealthy diet, etc.
If you click the link to the source I found, you will find more information. ;-)

It might be, it might not be. I would take another test to see what it says. If it is still negative, then you should make an appt with your GYN to discuss why you haven't been getting your period.
