I've seen alot of Blood, Guts, Cursing and other thing on tv with rating such as TV-14. Movies that have never appeared on tv because too graphic are now on. ex: The Exocist, Hellraiser, etc.

Well blood from Nip/Tuck i would assume is okay because it's about surgery and sometimes saving lives, right?

You're right, alot of movies from yesteryear (The Exorcist), etc. are now considered TV-14.

It's surprising in a way, because The Exorcist & Hellraiser were both rated R - no one under 17 without a parent, when they played in theatres.

I guess in today's society, people have been desensitized so much that the above mentioned movies just don't pack the same punch anymore, as they once did.

Just look at the alot of the more violent video games. Blood and gore seems to be the norm.

Have a lovely rest of the day and Happy Halloween!

Catch an episode of "Nip/Tuck" on FX sometime.
It goes beyond the limits on TV-14 and TV-MA.
More then you could ever know from a show that is crazy as it gets!

As people become more acclimated to violence, etc., the standards are lowered to match. I can remember my 3 year old neice telling me how much she LIKED "Nightmare on Elm Street" -- she thought it was funny! Me, I wanted to slap her mother (NOT my sister!) for letting her watch it. GRRR!

BTW, Nip/Tuck is about plastic surgery and seems to deal in the "elective, make me look good" type, not about saving lives.
