The Colts didn't sit their players cuz they were undefeated..in fact it's the opposite. Dungy said if they were undefeated that everyone would've played...going undefeated is still an astronomical accomplishment. But they lost and already had home-field and the division clinched so there was no reason to play everyone the last couple of weeks. If you want to see your whole team play all 17 weeks then you need them to lose a couple of games. This week against New England is a huge game esp. since it's at Foxboro.
Football is such a physical sport that from an keeping your stars injury free is so important that taking weeks off that you can makes sense...look at Stokley this year.

The Colts will be very lucky to go as many games as they did last year without losing a game. They have a tougher schedule this year and and the team is lacking some of the talent it had last year. Just pray that the Colts don't have to head into a snowstorm at Foxboro for the playoffs. They do have a good shot at winning a Super Bowl this year though.

I understand why they sat the players out at the end of last year but these guys make millions of dollars they should be in there playing the game.I live in baltimore I watched the colts when they were hear now i watch the ravens.I still cheer for the colts and hope Manning wins a superbowl ring but if it`s the ravens and colts in a playoff game you better believe I will be cheering for the ravens

They did the right thing by resting starterrs and saving them for playoffs. But alas they fell short again. When will the Colts learn that teams win, not just the best QB. All the money he earns could be spent on a running back or better LBs.

It's definitely a smart thing to do is bench the starters once they clinch a playoff berth. It would be dumb to play them and then one of the star players gets hurt and then they lose in the playoffs. I believe that the Colts are going to lose their first game of the season this weekend vs. the Patriots.

Of course, if they play and get hurt then everyone will say, "Why did they play him? It was so unnecessary. Fire the coach!"
You don't risk your key players in games that mean nothing. Do you risk the rust? Yeah. But better to be able to put the ball in rusty hands hoping that they can shake the rust off than to be unable to put it in their hands at all because they got hurt playing in a meaningless game.

Yeah, it's stupid to sit them out. These past 2 years we have just been falling apart in the playoffs.
I'm feeling it this year!
