If the EU does file a complaint with the WTO protesting Japanese launch aid on the Boeing 787 aircraft, how might the Japanese retaliate? Given this what should Airbus urge the EU to do?

poor airbus needs the protectionism of the E.U.

The Japanese will simply not give any more aid to any European company. They would also not buy defense contracts from Airbus, as most of the contracts would go to Boeing.

And Airbus is urging the EU to file a complaint, as the 787 is doing very well, and the A380 is getting delayed every few months.

All of these sorts of disputes underline the need to separate business and government in the same manner that we separate religion and government.
