Hi Dude. i too used to feel the same when i was in college.

You need to build the trust with your parents. You need to make them understand that you are matured enough to decide what is right ethically and morally. A suggestion from me. Hope it works.

1. Try to involved in your family matters. Try to give you suggestions and advice to yur dad and mom on the matters. I think you are a smart boy, they might start liking the way you think and understand your maturity.

2. On weekends - casually try to discuss with your Dad about his college days and school days. He will love to talk about it. This will reduce the generation gap between you two. Tell him about whats happening in the outside world (Your college) with positive pooints.

3. Try to get some of your good friends home for a combine study. This way they will know that you are with good guys.

Best of luck dude. Remember - Trust can win wonders.

You need to build their trust of you to a respected level.
Guess what -- you will be their little bitty child till the day you die -- the sound of sucks doesn't it.
Try this -- if you are at the college level here and not another age -- be up front with your folks -- tell them where you are going, who with, phone numbers in which they can reach you in case of an emergency, and when you will be returning home.

Openness and honesty will get you a long way with the mother father leash.

Move out if you want your freedom, they will not know you are late then and it will eliminate all their concerns. Anyone who lives in your home should have the decency to let you know when they will be coming and going. It can be very disruptive to an organized life style otherwise.

well first you need to think why ur parents are so strict with u is it because ure too young in their opinion or something to do with their own experiences. once u recognise that u need to reassure them and explain to them how important it is for you to have freedom at this point of you life . if they still complain and don't agree then u should just rebel but be subtle about it .

Move out! As long as you're bumming free food and rent off your parents, they have every right to put whatever restriction they want on you.

First of all, they're your parents. You don't "make them" do anything.

Secondly, if you're an adult in college and you can't stand your parents' rules, then grow up and move out.

Either suck it up and deal with it until you graduate and start your career, or get a job, move out, and start your own life.

Your parents don't owe it to you to change their rules for your comfort.

YOU ARE IN COLLEGE. You don't have to answer to your parents anymore, you're on your own. If they still do everything FOR you, then I guess you have to abide by their rules.

For them to not be so hard on you, you must make them trust you. You have to prove to them that you're not just out partying all the time and you're focusing on school.

You cant make your parents give you more freedom... You have to show them respect, and earn their trust... Do something big for them; something completly out of the ordinary...

Does them talking to you make any difference? Be responsible and offer help / after you take care of yourself and your messes. The freedom will come "after" you prove you can handle it responsibly.

I had the same problem when I was in college.
I would try and dorm at your college if you can. Dorming was the only thing that saved me. Its their house and their rules. You might have to move out or room with someone.
