I've wondered that myself.
Some random dreams are tied in to something we may have seen, how ever fleeting the image, some are just to bizarre to fit into any known experience.
So where DO they come from?

dreams are a combination of all the things you've seen or experienced. So if you have a bad dream, it may somehow be related to something you've seen in a movie or on tv. It could be anything really. A story someone told you, a book you read. All of the things you've seen jumbled up, which is why they sometimes make no sense at all.

Right, it is probably stored in your subconscious. An accumulation of images, wish, hopes, anger, fears, memories, etc. Some which we might not be aware of at times. In your dreams, everything is let loose and we see what we can't see with the naked eye. Therefore, I think it is one avenue in which we see our souls, our vital inner core.

No. Cause I dream evil things sometimes and I am not evil or would never do anything evil....To me and my beliefs dreams go much deeper.
