No, You'll only find CDMA in a few countries - USA, Canada, Japan. All of Europe (and most of the world) is GSM (and 3G) only

No..for a few reasons.

CDMA stands for Code Division Multiple Access. CDMA is a tricky process...this makes it quite costly as well.
The problem is that there are 3 or 4 different standards for this technology, and nobody can agree which one to use. These standards don't work together. Seing as though UK mobile networks have just payed a fortune to renew thier 2G license and upgrade to provide 3G....they aren't willing to invest until one of the standards prevail.

For now in the UK we are going to have to make do with GSM & GPRS within our mobile phones.
