It is still a time of celebration and being with family

The same thing that Christians do...spend lots of money, hang out with family/friends eating and drinking, everything except that one hour mass thing the Christians manage to squeeze in on Christmas morning when the church is packed to the gills with the losers that "belong to the church" but only show up on C-mas and Easter. Where are they the other 50 Sundays?? What do Christians do on Christmas??? I was raised Catholic, and we certainly didn't sit around in prayer all day. Christians buy into all the pagan rituals as much as non-Christians!

Yes, we have fun, but not in the sense of celebrating a retail holiday posing as a religious holiday. How many Christians gave you the finger as they were trying to get a parking spot at the mall last year??

Atheism is not a religion. We don't avoid doing this and that because we do not believe in a god. Christmas has traditions that have nothing to do with any god. Actually it is Pagan for the most part. Remember that most atheists were indoctrined into a religion as children and have been brought up with Christian values and ideas. It is hard to shake off religion being based on just the idea there is no god. The values of parts of the bible are widely accepted as good ideas to live by even as an atheist. The Golden Rule or varieties thereof are included in almost all religions. Just because someone doesn't believe in a god does not make them reject traditions, good ideas or values. I am an atheist and I do not believe in abortion for one. It is against values as a human and against nature. Atheists have to listen to all your freaky ideas about this invisible man who we just don't happen to believe in. We have to hear this from Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc. and we wonder why you don't practice what you preach. Christmas to aheists is just like Valentine's day, Halloween, etc. that were originated from religious and pagan ideas blended together. We have fun with it so why would we reject it and not have fun with it? Try to fathom that atheism is not a religion. There are some atheist websites along with Satanists, Luciferians, etc. that reject god but behave like Christians in regards that they behave like they worship. I don't worship anything, don't believe in any god, don't imitate religion, etc. I do have more values probably than most religious people. That is because most are fake and think religion is a license to act a fool because they think all they have to do is ask for forgiveness. Merry Christmas and Happy Hannuku and happy Quanza etc.

Well, being that most of the Christmas themes are based on Pagan beliefs, such as the christmas tree was to celebrate the winter solstice (sp?) and seeing as Christ was most likely born in the spring time, then we celebrate Christmas just like everyone else, with lots of presents and fun and parties.

We do what every else does -spend way too much money on christmas presents, go see family and friends, and enjoy a day off!!!! Last christmas I didn't see anyone celebrating the birth of christ but I did see many people maxing out their credit cards to buy xboxes, games, bikes, computers ect.... for their kids for christmas but maybe I misunderstand you christians. Christmas to me is about love and family-no matter who you are!

I am not religious but I use Christmas as a day to celebrate my family. We are together only a few times a year and that is one of the days. I don't belive in the religious aspects of the holiday though.

I'm not atheist, but agnostic, and I have a jolly good time on Christmas. I rest on my day off from work, talk to friends/family, catch up on reading.

I think they have fun having a day off, even if they do not believe in the religious aspect of the holiday.
