It is a day for kids to have fun just like any other holiday!
Kids are not worshiping the devil or chanting satanic songs while trick or treating. They are dressing up and getting candy. No harm in that. Allow them to have fun at school and dress up, eat candy, and have fun with their friends. Geez people! Get a grip! These are children we are talking about!

If there were something satanic about it I don't think it would be considered a national holiday!

This is one thing that bothers me about most schools now-not letting children celebrate Halloween, this is an American tradition that has been taken away, because some believe the holiday is Satanic--Oh Please! When I was in school,we would dress up in our costumes and go to school,we would have a little party then walk around the school for a little while to show all the other classes our costumes. They shouldn't have cut it out completely, they could have the children who don't believe a separate celebration or give them something fun to do too. But, instead because of a few they have taken it away from all.Sad

It is fun and a great opportunity for the children to get dressed up and have a party with their peers! Happy Halloween to everyone!

It's the best way to act out your fantasys. Kids these days have very little imagination. They're to busy watching tv, playing video games, etc. They wouldn't have a clue how to make-believe. Gone are the days when cartoons only came on on Saturday mornings.

The true Religious rites have never been observed in schools, what are you worried about?
Kids dressing up & going around for candy is so far from the original rites, it isn't even funny!

It is for kids fun, they like to dress up & scare people once a year.
So what??

Because it's a brilliant opportunity for teachers to relax a bit while the young students are busy with black and orange construction paper & little blunt scissors.
