If so, do you trust the candies that are given? If you don't, still bother?

I take my children house to house - we usually stay within our neighborhood. I screen the candy before they are allowed to eat anything, even if it's from someone we know. A lot of houses in my town really go all out with lights & such, we'll go to those houses too because they indicate that they want trick or treaters to come see them & they usually have good candy!!
Happy Halloween!!

To watch your own child enjoying themselves, using their creativity and interacting with other people is one of the great joys of parenting. I think I enjoy watching her growing up more than I actually enjoyed my own childhood. All of these little rituals and holidays that we celebrate are all ways of making great memories that make life worth living.

In answer to trusting the candy. It's sad to say no, but I have never had any problem with any. I just wouldn't take the chance with my child's life, or anyone who might sneak a piece of candy or two.

I steal their candies and eat 'em myself.
I'd hate for THEM to get FAT.....
(our local hospitals x-rayed candy for over 10 years - and found absolutely nothing. Adulterated candy stories are seldom true, often the person reporting a piece of tampered candy tampered with it themselves in order to get attention/sympathy, or to give a holliday they find religiously objectionable a black eye.)

ABSOLUTELY!! I even dress up!! It makes it more fun( I think). I guess it would depend on the age though! If you don't trust the candy...take it to the hospital and they will x-ray it for free! Happy Halloween!
