tradition is something that people have done for a very long time.
Halloween has many traditions, but do you know how they started?
Snap apple: is a game where you hang an apple on a piece of string and try to bite it without using your hands. In the old days, fruit was a treat, like chocolate or your favourite dessert. If you bit the apple, it meant that you would have good luck for the rest of the year.
Bob apple: is a game where you try to catch an apple with your mouth. The apple is in a basin of water or flour. In the old days, they sometimes put money in the basin too. If you caught some money, you would be rich for that year. If you caught an apple, you would be healthy for the year.

How disgusting is this ritual? Would you put your face in lukewarm water and salivate all over apples trying to get one in the same nasty water someone else just did the same thing in?
