Got to your freezer and take out anything cold. Best things to use are packages of frozen peas or corn kernals since they will form to your face and they have enough air in between to keep a solid icey surface from getting too cold.

Wrap in a lightweight hand towel, dry washcloth or t-shirt and hold onto the area. If it gets wet, trade for another dry cloth as the wetness will conduct the cold faster and you don't want to keep it TOO cold.

Also, do not be alarmed if your vision is slightly blurry when you remove the cold pack. That's normal. It is better to apply JUST to the swollen area and not to the eyeball itself, but sometimes that's not possible.

A doctor will recommend applying an ice pack, bag of frozen vegetables, or a cloth soaked in ice-cold water and wrung out. Hold the ice pack or cold compress to the eye for up to 10 minutes, being careful not to push too hard. You might try putting crushed ice in a plastic bag and taping it to the forehead. Repeat the cold treatment for 5-10 minutes every hour for 24 hours or as long as swelling is present.

Side note; the folk tale of putting a steak over your eye has merit, though it is needlessly expensive. It turns our that there are some enzymes in the raw steak that may actually help your skin to heal. However, the real benefit is that it's cold and can conform to your face very well. ;-)

placed some uncooked steak on it, or adjustments of warm and chilly packs (15 min on 15 min off) if the swelling would not circulate down in 2 days, or if the bruise gets extra crimson/darker then get her to the well being center. If the bruise turns yellow/lighter then you definitely've no longer something to rigidity approximately.

Put something cold on your eye. The steak on the eye helps or you can put a cold pad or ice in a sock.
