Well, this is strictly my opinion but,. I did see the compass point towards Jack but, I'm not completely convinced that it is HIM that she wants. I think that the directors are using that whole scenario as a metaphor for a deeper setting or plot. It could mean that Jack is the key to her happiness/heart in some way or another, not just romantically..but who really knows?
I also feel that Jack , although charming and handsome..is still a pirate and is still a scallywag and pilfiger...so to believe that he actually holds a torch romantically for Elizabeth would be far-fetched. Also, it confirms the shallowness about the whole idea of Elizabeth and Jack ever being together because of the fact that he helped Will and her be together over and over, and to want to be with her himself, would just be a spur-of-the-moment infatuation.....

I'm not sure anyone else noticed but, in the first movie "I" was led to believe that when Jack and Eliz were stranded on the island...that they DID in fact , have sexual relations becuase of the way they acted beforehand and the comments he made afterwards...he acted like he was "used" by her for her own purposes..which is a complete turnaround from the way things are normally..with the man sleeping with a woman for his own purposes and then leaving her feeling used in the morning....
...Don't know but, in the end .....I enjoyed the kiss that Jack and Eliz shared........PLUS it left William wide open for me.. :) Yumm.

Yes, when Elizabeth hold the compass it definitely points to Jack. She doesn't like it very much, though. It about broke my heart when Will saw Jack kissing Elizabeth. He didn't realize that Jack had instigated it. I don't know if the compass ever pointed to Elizabeth when Jack was holding it but I think he is just playing around with her AND Will's heads! I can't wait till the third
movie!

Did it point towards Jack or was it just that Jack happens to be standing over the chest same as when it pointed towards Elizabeth when Jack was holding it. He told her it was pointing at her or rather what she was sitting on. For both it was pointing them towards the chest.
