Which holiday? American Thanksgiving? Why don't you make it longer by continuing the celebration rather than starting early? Religiously speaking, it's advent before Christmas and the Christmas spirit can last through till the start of lent.

I think the day after Halloween is too early to put up decorations for Christmas, Kwanza, or Hanukah. You should first decorate patriotic for Veteran's day. I hang huge posters saying thank you to veterans. Then, on Nov. 12, I add the Thanksgiving decorations. Finally, the day after Thanksgiving, I hang Christmas decorations. Since I love ALL holidays and celebrations, I give them each the utmost respect and I do not forget one.

However, jammin' to the tunes of the holidays is a year round experience! The messages of the holiday songs are ones we need to live our lives by and so I enjoy those all year long- so jam on.........

I depends on you. Some people the Holidays get a ruiend for them by starting months before- like it's already happend and the day of it's not that important
So go ahead and start lisitning to holiday music and go Christmas shopping but It is a little early to decorate for Thanksgiving or CHristmas- take it easy leave you Halloween decorations up for the rest of the week and go from there

I always say Christmas should be all year, or at least the idea of caring for others above yourself, but the traditional time for Christmas decorations is the day after thanksgiving and Christmas eve for the tree. Most people now set up the tree when they set up everything else now. I don't think that really makes sense, you're dealing with pine needles for over a month!

Anyway, you rights to celebrate the holidays should not interfere with your neighbors right to peace and quiet. So I would try to take that into consideration when you decide for yourself when the right time to begin celebrating the holidays is.

Traditionally, in America, the Christmas season start on the day of/day after Thanksgiving. Personally I follow this and think that putting up Christmas stuff before then is too soon. If you put things up as soon as Nov 1st you'll get burned out and will loose the spirit. Wait a while and don't give in to the materialism of the large chain stores.

Usually the day after Thanksgiving is best, but lets get in the holiday spirit early this year. We all need more cheer going around.

I don't think so. I just saw xmas decorations the other night, before Holloween. I don't care about rules. Except white shoes out of season does bother me. The more merrier the better. Can't we all use good cheer. I'd say go ahead and go for it. I don't have kids at home anymore, and I miss that. Go for it big time, if someone doesn't like it, they don't have to look. I think more people will just love to enjoy it. This question cheers me up!

Tomorrow is the Perfect Time! You're right, the season does seem to get shorter and shorter, the earlier you start enjoying, the longer you have to!

Yes it is too early. At least wait until December, or at the VERY least after Thanksgiving. I would rather start it the week before Christmas.

Decorate away. Heck the stores already have Christmas stuff going up, why cant we. If I had access to my Christmas things I would start this coming weekend. Sadly it is in storage in another city since we recently moved.
