No way! The truth will surface sooner or later. I have heard of people lying during interviews and subsequently get terminated. And we are talking about little harmless lies, not even the criminal record kind of lies. There's this girl that I know of who wanted to be an air stewardess. She had a pretty face but she's got old acne scars that made her complexion a little rough. She told the interviewers that her complexion would improve tremendously once she went for skin peeling treatments. But of course, it was a lie because she was desperate to get the job. When she finally got into the job, her superiors reminded her to get skin treatments, which she did. However, the skin peeling treatments didn't work and she eventually got fired after just 3 months into the job.

NO WAY.. One sholud never lie at a Job or any interviews..
The interviewee , most likely is experiended enough to tell by your 'body language', immediately, that you are lieing, or even exaggerating a point.
Honesty, and openess is the best way handle questions, of any nature.
Believe me, you can be ' found out.' eventually, even if you are the BEST of Liars

Never. I've interviewed people before and it gets tiresome to hear person after person describing themselves as a saint. It is refreshing to hear someone telling the truth---and you can tell immediately which ones they are. Honesty, a smile and professionalism are very important, assuming you have the qualifications for the position. That is much better than the "saints" that make you wonder what they're hiding.

I think everyone lies at job interviews. You have to be careful what you lie about though. If they check your references and find out you are a liar it looks really bad for you. Plus if you lie about what you can do it will surface sooner or later.

I don't have anything to lie about. And the situation would get worse if the employer found out I lied. Why would I set myself up like that?

I think more people gloss over things or add-to things. Like saying they were a "garbage technician" rather than a garbage truck driver (just a example-nothing against the work they do of course!) Key words and heavier vocab make you look better alot of the time!

No, I don't feel the need to hide the truth in any aspect of my life. Maybe it's because I'm older & no longer care what people think of me, & know that I'm responsible for everything I say & do. I am who I am, & am proud that I stay true to myself. :)
