I hate halloween! I hate the moldy halloween decorations somebody put up in the office so I called in sick today. At my office, somebody hung doll body parts from the ceiling splotched with red paint. I hate feeling guilty for turning off the porch light so total strangers won't ring my doorbell demanding candy. I hate being asked a thousand times what I will "be" for halloween. Like I'm gonna spend money on some cheesy costume?!!! Anybody else feel my sentiments?

Does anybody else think it's weird to glorify tortured people and serial killers during halloween??

It's hard to have "fun" at work when you can't breathe from the smell of the moldy halloween decorations. I need to vent, man.

"to each his own" concept is fine, but when you are forced to walk around gory decorations at work doens't really fit in with that concept.

I hate the gorey aspect of halloween. I only respect halloween as a fall festival with hay and pumpkins and different kinds of festive treats held in an Autumnal orange, red, yellow, and green setting of nature. That part is beautiful. Trick or treating also isn't so bad to me as long as it's cute costumes and not trying to emulate monsters demons or any other type of unfortunate mythical figure. So halloween as a fun festival I like. It's the rest I could do without.

You know its a *to each their own* type of thing.
Personally I love Halloween for the *fun* factor and I've seen many many a Halloween being on this earth for over 50 years. I still get the teens coming to my door and I have fun with them too but I also have them do a little *extra* for their treats :-) The little ones - they have a fun time and you can see it. At work - we are a huge commercial home improvement store that is even getting into it today and dressing up with over 150 staff (those that want to dress up). If the decorations at your place smell - well heck suggest some new ones and maybe ones that are less offensive - you can do Halloween and have fun too.
But just like the Scrooges of Christmas - we have them at Halloween too - to each their own.

Yes I hate Halloween. Its OK. for the kids I gess. But what annoys me is going to work. And all the adults dress up. Wich would not be so bad if they did not carry on all day over eachothers outfits. It gets vary highly annoying after 2 or 3 hours of hearing the same stuff. Even if adults are going to celebrate it leave it outside the workplace. Also I see no point in it. And think its stupid. Why set asside a day to celebrate things that are scary. Beats the hell out of me?

Oh man, stop complaining you Negative Nancy! This is a holiday for children ... remember when you had fun as a child going door to door with your friends yelling "Trick-or-Treat" at the top of your lungs and sporting your new costume. Use this holiday to your advantage ... FREE CANDY at your disposal! Hang in there ... the day is half over! Happy Halloween!!!!
By the way, blame the media/retailers for tying in all the horror and gore into Halloween. If you research Halloween's history, it has nothing to do with that. If we all stuck with tradition, we'd all be praying right now. Just something to think about.

I am GROWING to hate it. High schoolers trick or treating is what bothers me. I will give out candy for maybe 2 more years then we will go to a movie on Halloween or something.
I agree glorifying serial killers is bothering to me, also.
Plus, It is the beginning of the CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SHOPPING SEASON.... ISH.
People running around buying everyone everything they want...MAN.

i dont necessarily hate it. i just dont think its a day to be glorified. skulls, bones...no. now that im older and understand a little bit more what it is, i dont get into celebrating it. when people say "Happy Halloween" i just reply, "Take Care!" or "Be Blessed". I wouldn't take this away from kids though. That's a part of being a kid, getting dressed up in your costume and getting candy, but as they get older I would explain to them fully what this day means. this is not a real holiday.

Yes I feel the same way. I think the decorations are all tacky and I don't like kids at my door all night, running through the streets at dark. then you have to check all their candy because some jerk down the street had decided to tamper with it and try to hurt children. I think this is a waste of a day. If you want the kids to enjoy it have them dress up and stay home with their friends and have a private party in homes where they are safe and enjoying themselves.

No. I don't really hate it, but I don't really like it either. But most people do and that is good for them. If they have fun great for them. I certainly would have treats for the kids who come to the door. Some people like you would find something to hate what ever it was.

I hate Halloween too. I won't be passing out candy tonight. I'll probably go see a movie or something. I think I'll be a twin this year, just like I am every other day of the year. Costumes suck. Just another excuse for people to get drunk and puke their brains out.

No-- I'm not into all the decorations, but it's my favorite time of year. Also only a couple of days until my birthday. Happy birthday to me! :D
I don't like Christmas and Valentine's Day, but I just get really drunk and get through it somehow. If you try to ruin everyone's fun when they are putting up Xmas decorations or asking you where you're going out for dinner with "your valentine" (YEEECCCHHH!!!) then A) You don't succeed in ruining anyone's fun; they'll just start trying to make you "get into the spirit" which makes it like a thousand times worse, and B) People will hate you and leave dead mice in your desk.
Trust me, I know this.
