I am not an albino. I am olive skinned. I refuse to call myself white because my race is caucasian. White means being an albino and I am not albino.

It's possible that you are wasting too much time worrying about categorization. Life is PROBABLY too short to argue with everyone who wants to call you "white" that you are not white.
On forms that you have to fill out, check the box that says "other" for your race if you're really that cranky about it. Tell people that you are Polynesian, Hispanic, or something like that. The sky's the limit.

I can sympathize; while I am considered ''black'', I am actually a medium shade of brown--but somehow, ''brown'' is not used to describe my particular ethnicity...somebody needs to really consult their Crayola Codes Of Conduct on this one...

I guess it is judge by the lightest shade. I'm not albino but most of the time I am so white that I am one shade away from transparent.

Brother you have the right to choose your identity. I'm black and proud to be black. The only problem i have is other races will call me "a man of colour" but i stay black even when i'm hurt, scared, hot, etc. Isn't that a little unfair?
