Well if you system is secured and has no spyware/viruses slowing it down. Then the only other option would be to use Clockgen and overclock your system.
http://www.cpuid.org/clockgen.php
The problem with that is your computer might get over heated and fail.
You can also try to defrag your system but that only speeds up the hard drive.
Now you can do what everyone says and upgrade the hardware in your PC. But if your system is old then it is a waste of money to upgrade. You should get a new computer instead.

128MB of RAM!!!! That is the absolute minimum on which Windows will run. And then just barely. It is always going to crawl on 128MB. You need to invest in some additional memory for your PC.
Check the web site for the manufacturer for your make and model. It will tell you how much memory you can add to the PC and what size and speed it has to be. Print in out and take it to a good computer store and they can help you purchase the right memory for the PC. (It may also be available on line from the manufacturer). If possible, go to 512MB. (Even 256 will make a huge difference).

I am assuming that since you are using only 128MB of ram, that you are not running XP. If this is the case, I would up the ram size to at least 512MB (1GB would be best case) and upgrade your OS to XP. If you are running XP on 128MB of ram, that is why it is so slow. DEFINITELY up the ram to at lease 512MB. If you have an 80GB drive you should be ok, the drive speed can help the computer, I use 2, 200GB SATA drives, have 2GB of DDR (400MHz) and an AMD X2 processor, no slow downs here.
Good luck....

You can increase the RAM capacity if your computer mother board has the provision. I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some RAM/hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.

a couple of things. check the size of your hard drive and check how many things you have stored on it. if you have 50% full or more then you have to much as this is when you system will start to slow down.
i good way of preventing this when you have lots of files is to defragment. a defragmentor comes with windows but i would suggest using disk keeper as it is the best defragmenter i have used.

What kind of system is it? How long has it been slow? You could also upgrade the memory, or change your apperance in My computer (properties) to best performance if you haven't already.
