Someone told me to get the T2250 or T7200 processor

...but to stay away from the T5200, T5500 and T5600 processors

good advice?

Not really sure what there logic is, the 2250 is Core Duo, but the rest are Core 2 Duo, including the 7200. I would recommend that you get either the 5500, 5600, or 7200, whichever one you can afford. If those are too pricy then I would go with the 5200, but I would stay away from the 2250, that is the only one there that is the old Core Duo, and the Core 2 Duos are faster and use less power.

absolutely, 100 %

the t2x00 or t2x50 duo core processors are good enuf for most jobs

why spend more on the core 2 duo t5x00 processors

the core 2 duo processor family t7x00 is different cause it has an awesome 4 mb l2 cache
awesome, even by desktop processor standards

my personal preference would be the t7200 processor
2.0 ghz, 667 mhz fsb, 4 mb l2 cache

the t7400 & t7600 have even faster clock speeds, but priced much steeper than the t7200, with same 4 mb l2 cache
this difference on date i find unjustified & would happily settle for the t7200

>> hope my logic makes it a lil bit easier for you !
< both t2x00 / t2x50 & the t5x00 processors have 2 mb l2 cache >
