I have never heard of the nipples hurting during pregnancy. Be sure that your husband is not stimulating them. Stimulation of the nipples could release a hormone that help ripen the cervix which could cause premature labor.
For the soreness use a good lanolin cream but make sure not to rub to hard.

If you are going to nurse you want tough nipples. Although they hurt, it's a sign that they are getting tough so they won't hurt later.

You can rub them with a washcloth a little bit every day to hurry up the process. Also exposure to a sun lamp for a short time occasionally helps.

If you aren't going to nurse, you can go get cream made for stretch marks and apply that. Or Vaseline or baby oil.

The extremes of heat and cold help with breast discomfort during pregnancy. Alternate heat and cold.

Ex: Place a face towel in the freezer and hold it to your breast or place it inside your bra.
Ex: Don't boil but wet a face towel with water as hot as you can stand it and do the same. You could even put a wet face towel in the mic for a few seconds.

Breast discomfort is typical in pregnancy and there's really not much you can do about it. The heat/cold worked for me.

try putting lotion or ice that's all i can say. i'm six months pregnant with my second and my nipples are already starting to do it. you'll get some relief from time to time but just keep in my mind that if your breast feeding that pain is nothing.

Use Lansinoh cream on them. This is also safe for breastfeeding mothers and doesn't need to be wiped off to nurse.
