Had my baby on Aug. 4th, and was still having bleeding 6 weeks later. So I was prescribed regular birth control pills from Sep 16th to the 27th to help stop the bleeding. I had a period starting on the 26th. I've been nursing my baby this entire time, the doctor said it was fine and safe. I started taking the mini pill on October 8th, and we used condoms from when I stopped the regular pills until a week after I started the mini pills. Now it's been 36 days since the first day of that last period, so I'm 6-8 days late. I normally don't have periods while I nurse and only had one because of the birth control pills. Did I go back to not having periods because of the nursing or am I pregnant? I took a pregnancy test on Oct 27th and first thing this morning and they were both negative.

The mini-pill and breastfeeding can combine to supress ovulation and thus your menses. So it is not unusual.

I would suggest talking to your caregiver.
Many moms don't have a period the entire time they are nursing.
For me, it took about 5 cycles to regulate and be able to predict when my period was coming while nursing. My first several cycles were usually VERY long. (Some over 50 days.)
It never hurts to take a test if you think PG is a possibility.

i think your body is confused with all the hormones that it is receiving. talk with your doctor again, maybe get a blood test just to make sure that you are not pregnant.
my cousin is on the mini pill as well, she is nursing still too. she says she has her period every 3 months or something like that.
good luck! take care!
