You almost answered your own question! Some places like New York City pays a lot for nurses, but the cost of living is so high that it isn't enough. Here in the upper Midwest most nurses make about 40k to 55k a year, and housing costs are low. So a nurse here earns a very comfortable living, although the actual amount of money made is less than New York.

I really don't know, I've been wondering the same thing because I'm in nursing school myself. But I think Atlanta GA is a booming spot.

go to the Houston Chronicle website and i think that u will be pleased with the amount of pay and availibility of jobs in the houston area

My sister is a RN and she makes almost Thirty dollars a hour last i heard.. This in California. On holidays she makes what some of us make in a month.

same areas it costs the most to live unfortunately. go for travel, its cheaper.
