i have never had a really really good friend before (just lots of good friends). now there is this girl, she makes me feel so comfortable (i often feel uncomfortable around other people). we have alot in common, but she is gay. she has quite bad temper issues, but so did i - so i understand, other people often get annoyed with my patience as they get annoyed by her.
last night 4 of us went out. i am not normally a particularly touchy-feely person, but i did not mind (and quite liked) walking through the streets with her hand on my shoulder and my hand on her waist?
i no i am not gay, but i wonder about being bi, i have crushes on guys and i often think women are attractive - but dont we all (noticing that they look nice - no more than that)
plz help i am more than a little confused

Talk to your friend, tell her how you feel, maybe you can experiment and then see what happens.

Maybe a science prospective can be help you understand.

There are several theories as to why a person is 'born' gay/bisexual. The most prominent I have read is a work by Simon Le Vay. He determined - through autopsy - that gay men and straight men have one single difference: the size of their hypothalamus (a gland in the middle of your brain and well known to be the source of sexual sitmulation in human beings). With gay men it is small and fluffy were as in straight men, it is solid and large. He repeated this experiment with lesbian and straight women and found the reverse. Straight women had small/fluffy gland were as lesbian has large/denser gland.
So hypothalamus size wise:
Gay men = Straight women
Lesbian women = Straight men

Following years of studies, he determined that this gland is developed before birth. When he examined pregnant mothers during period of pregnancy he found that this gland gets developed during the 6th month of pregnancy. If the mother body thinks she has a daughter, she would give Oestrogen (female hormone). If she thinks she has male son, she would give Testosterone (male hormone). For some un-explained reason, the mother would give the wrong hormone. Depending on how long this hormone is given, the child may come up as Bisexual, straight acting gay guy, camp gay guy, or in extreme cases transsexual (a person who believes he is in the wrong body!).

See it is much more complicated that this but I hope I explained to you in best possible way. And if you are wandering how a bisexual man/woman hypothalamus would look, well it is medium size/denisty, they got mix of hormones and thus they would like both! This means you would have recieved mix of hormones and depending on it, this may just be the only time in your life you fancy a girl or you will have these feelings 2-5 times n your life time, or 50/50 (a pure bisexual person!).

It is normal to be curious about this type of thing. She's a good friend that you have a sort of love for, but her being gay doesn't make anything different from a normal friend love.

Of course straight women admire other women's looks, why do you think we have all these fashion magazines?

It's healthy to find out what you are, but try not to do it in a way that can jeopardize your friendship. Just remember that she's not necessarily someone who automatically wants to be your first or your experiment.

Good luck with this. And I know many of the answers you'll get will be homophobic and gross, but that's what you expect from this section nowadays.

I'm not sure you will find out until you try. Not saying you should try with her if she doesn't feel the same way. Me and my partner met in much the same way. Only we both had not realized that we were gay. We were just great friends. I felt the most comfortable with her than anyone in my whole life. And one night it just happend and ever since I have been the happiest that I can believe.
Your situation is a little harder though because she knows what she is looking for. I would talk to her about it. See if she has feelings for you. Then if you don't think it would ruin your relationship try it. Your friendship will already never be the same if you think you are having feelings for her.
Good luck to you!

My first clue is always "that butterfly feeling" I get in my gut. Then when she smiles at me and my knees get weak and my hands sweat. All of a sudden I can't say anything funny or intelligent. Of course this still happens to me anytime I am with her.Except now she's my wife and I am so Happy! She doesn't seem to mind that I still get flustered...she finds it endearing. I agree with the other responders...your relationship with you friend is already different. Talking openly with your friend will be the most honest thing to do. Be open to new possibilities.Good Luck!

You know when, you can't stop thinking of the individual constantly and you want to be with her in a romantic way.

your instinct if influenced by booze etc...
