This is just a play on words, computer geeks decided that they did not want to play the same game as the rest of us.
They decided to implement their own language just to make it seem difficult to the rest of up.

If you delete or format something on your computer - the information can be recovered if someone is determined enough and possesses the right software and equipment.
The idea of delete stems from moving the file to a recycle bin (or trash can on Macs) - giving the impression that the file is gone for good - but it's not.

You can erase from a computer, just go the command prompt and type 'erase ' (without the quotes) and you'll see what I mean. It's a DOS alternative to the more familiar 'del' command.

When you erase from paper, the paper is still there. If you DELETE something from a computer, IT's GONE!
If you DELETE the paper, it's gone.
If you erase something from a Word Document, it's still there, but the words are gone, just like the paper.
Good luck

on a computer the data is 'gone' but still exists if you know how to find it. deleting just takes the file off reference so in time you can rewrite and use the space. the data stays there till its overwritten.

Why to you "run" to the store when we actually drive? It's just a way we say things. Same out come.
