One Day In The Middle Of Summer When The Snow Was Coming Down Fast, I Saw A Barefooted Begger With Boots On Come Slowly Whizzing Past. He Went Round A Strait Crooked Corned And Saw A Dead Monkey Die, He Picked Up An Empty Revolver And Shot Himself In The Back Of The Eye.
Tomorrow I Went To The Pictures, I Got A Front Seat At The Back. A Lady Gave Me An Apple, I Ate It And Gave Her It Back.

This probably isn't the answer you're looking for but your rhyme is so much like another nonsense rhyme that I know, also of unknown origin.

Early in the morning, in the middle of the night
Two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other.
A deaf policeman heard the noise and
Came and saved the two dead boys.
If you don't believe my lie is true,
Ask the blind man; he saw it too.

I don't know where that came from, but then I have often wondered where this one came from. Maybe the same place.

One bright day in the middle of the night two dead boys got up to fight. Back to back they faced each other, with their swords they shot each other. A deaf policeman heard the noise and came to the rescue of the two dead boys.

I have never heard the first part before.

The part beginning "tomorrow I went" has a second half which begins "I fell from the stalls to the gallery" but it is too long since I heard it to remember the rest.
