this is true if you are weak, have no faith and cannot allow yourself to find comfort within yourself. We are not taught to be interdependant, but we are taught to be dependant on others, family, friends etc. when in fact if we realise that when the lights go out, who will rush to our aide...hmmm...probably the one looking at you in the mirror...if man trembles with cold, it is actually fear making it so..

I think you're projecting your own needs on others. There isn't one single path to fulfillment.

A "family" could be one person with one or more pets.
