The pancreas, located just below the stomach, is where insulin is manufactured. Insulin acts like a key in your bloodstream. It unlocks the cells, allowing sugars access to the cells from the bloodstream in order to provide fuel. Insulin also helps the body to eliminate excess sugars by directing them to the excretory system. Diabetics either have an under-producing (hypoactive) pancreas, or a pancreas that does not produce insulin at all.

The pancreas makes (or doesn't make) Insulin. Proper Insulin amounts regulate blood sugar levels. As your food is digested and the glucose is absorbed into the blood stream...a message gets sent to the pancreas to make enough Insulin to keep your blood sugars normal.

The Pancreas releases what's called Pancreatic Juice to break down the food when it gets in to the intestines. Such action makes the sugar from the food readily available to use.
This sugar travels through capelaries in the blood to feed other organs.
Hope this helps!! :) :) :) :)
