I would say that first of all, you are adding too many fish ! If you set up a new tank, the tank needs to "cycle". I don't want to throw a bunch of big words at you, so the easiest way to explain it is this: A new tank needs good bacteria to break down waste products, such as amonia, nitrates and nitrites. If the bacteria are lacking, then the levels of these will rise and rise and your fish will die.
Test your water. For amonia and nitrates. If these are high as I would suspect, you need to syphon out 20 to 50 % of your water, and replace with fresh( dechlorinated) You may need to do these water changes every day or two until you get these down to safe levels. DON'T add any more fish! It sounds like your tank is already OVER stocked, if it is only 2 feet long. You should really be taking fish out!
Adding good bacteria will help speed up the process. I don't know what you have available along those lines in your area, but maybe you could order some "Cycle" or something similar online?
:-)

No, it will not be enough just treating the water, though it does not require you to take everything apart to clean it. Ick is a very nasty fish killer. Dump the old water out and clean the tank by scrubbing it all over using a sponge or some other object. DO NOT USE BLEACH inside the tank or anywhere on it for that matter, as this can cause the tank to become unusable. After cleaning the tank thoroughly, fill it back up with water. Immediately treat the new water for any remaining Ick bacterium which may have been left in the tank and gotten in the water. Finally, you may put your fish in the tank again after you have of course checked the PH and all the other stuff. I hope this helped.

you didnt give the tank time to adjust ... when you set up a tank you need to let it cycle for at least a few days before you put fish in it. more than likely your fish went into shock and thats why they are dying. next time set your tank up put everything in it and let it cycle a few days plus heat up then put your fish in . you will have way better luck that way.

also there are all kinds of different sites on the web that can give you information about setting up your tanks and what fish you should or should not have togather

Sorry, that fish will die no matter what you do. I suspect it was ill before you got it. The kindest thing you can do is to take it out of the tank and despatch it mercifully.

Put that fish in a separate simple glass bowl, not aquarium, no technology. Don't throw it away, you never know, it may survive. Feed it there, and see how it goes.

WAY TOO MANY FISH for one tank. They don't have the OXYGEN they need with that many fish. You need a BIGGER TANK - or they will die!!!!!!

Please get a bigger tank now or take some of the fish back. You are suffocating them! PLEASE!

Put your fish, all of them in a glass of lemonade. This will make them EXPLODE. This will eliminate your problem and your fish will be in fishy heaven, swimming along in the sky.
