I believe you're experiencing "pop-ups." These are advertisements that pop up on your screen as an additional website when you're online.

There are several security systems or pop up blockers out there. You could go to a store and buy something, like Norton Anti-Virus that has a build in pop up blocker, or you can get one from the internet. (www.stopzilla.com offers a pretty good one.)

Note: Since you're using the internet, you should get some sort of anti-virus AND some sort of pop up blocker AND some form of anti spyware. (stopzilla has built in spyware and spybot search and destroy is what I use so websites can't spy on me!)

Whichever brand you go for, just make sure it's something you can trust. If you're downloading from a website, you may end up doing more damage than good, so be careful!

This sounds like adware. Download Ad-aware and run that, which should hopefully remove them. Then check that your browser has a pop-up blocker. Windows XP SP2 has one by default. The Google and Yahoo toolbars also include them. If however, you mean you want to remove every single ad possible then you can by using the Firefox browser (www.mozilla.com) and installing an extension called Adblock Plus. This will block all ads that appear on webpages

It depends which adverts you refer to. If they are popup adverts then you need to run Spybot S&D, Adaware and Windows Defender and to use a pop-up blocker, if the adverts are on Yahoo or other pages, then they are there because Yahoo is a basically 'free' service which makes its money by selling advertising space, just like any newspaper or magazine. You should also try changing your browser to Firefox.

You should activate your popup blocker - Open the Internet Explorer and click on Tools - Pop-up Blocker - Turn on pop-up blocker.

You should get no more 'popups'.

Good luck!

Sounds like you have an ad programs on your PC.

Check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware Peronal Edition ( http://www.lavasoftusa.com ) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections.
