That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard and to answer your question it is a, b and c. Urlacher is the consummate middle linebacker. What people don't see is his pass coverage. He doesn't crowd the line of scrimmage because of the talent of Chicago's front line. As a result, this frees him up to roam the middle.
There are many good plays made by Urlacher that go unnoticed because it is one of positioning to make the offense try to adjust to the situation. As an example back in the seventies Oakland's Casper paid Lambert one heck of a compliment. It was the last offensive play for Oakland and Casper caught the ball and the option to pitch back to a trailing runningback for a touchdown was the play (typical Oakland razzle-dazzle in the 70s). Well Casper caught the ball and looked to pitch to the ruinningback and when he turned he was looking at Lambert. He had to hold onto the ball and the safety tackled him. Game over. Casper said the average fan did not even fathom how good of a game saving play Lambert made and Urlacher is out of the mold of a Jack Lambert only bigger and stronger.

I can totally understand T.O. and i agree but brian urlacher that is just plain wrong. There are countless times that brian urlacher has saved the game and won a game that in technicality they should have lost. Why? Because he NEVER gives up no matter how far up or how far down they are in score he plays the same way everytime. The guy plays for the love of the game and has pure passion. And to top it off he is modest and he is not one of those loud mouth cocky players.overall the best player in the nfl!

People can call Urlacher whatever they want and all the surveys in the world aren't going to change the the fact that he's on one of the two only undefeated teams in the NFL. They can watch him week after week be the the backbone of a purely defensive team. The only thing credible about Sports Illustrated is the Swimsuit Issue.
Now T.O he's got to go.
Da Bears!

that is so funny. TO is a joke. Can you imagine having the talent he has and not producing. What would you or I do if we had that kind of talent. We wouldn't be asking and answering questions on yahoo I know that. Urlacher has talent and he uses it. He is the backbone of the bears D and he showed that with his great athletic ability on Sunday. There's always going to be haters and nay-sayers. Let them run off at the mouth, then when he proves his greatness on the field, oh the more sweeter.
A man is not all that great if he has to tell you how great he is. A real man let's his actions speak for him.

Sounds to me like the players are jealous of how good Urlacher is. Go Bears!

SI has been known to write things that stir up other players and that's what this is. I'll bet they didn't give any names of the players surveyed though. You watch he will go out next Sunday and put someone in a hurt locker!
