it would be great to be able to do it all online. It is a mixture of a word document and some jpegs for illustrations. Ideally i'd like a nice cover finish for it - it is going to be a present for my mum. I tried 'Snapfish' but that is for photos with very little text and what I have is text, with very little photos.

In the US, lulu.com will print it up for you in hardcover or soft. Kinko's will do a nice job if you'll accept the "comb" binding. Since you used "mum" instead of "mom" i suspect you are in the UK. They must have equivalent places. Kinko's is a Xerox center. Lulu.com will ship overseas for an extra fee. The Kinko's I use accepts manuscripts as word documents via e-mail.

If you have first cousins or children, they may want a copy.

Go to kinkos or somewhere like that and they can help you. They can even bind it. You'll spend a little money but it will look good and it will last a bit.

If you want to do it yourself, use MS publisher to put it together. There are also other publishing programs like Quark Express (high end). You could actually do it all in word if you really wanted to. Just insert the photos with the cursor. It's really very easy.

Search online for page layout and publishing software for other freebees.

I'm a history major and I'd like to read it myself. If it complete and you only need formatting, maybe I can help. email me at webmaster@miamirelocationguide.com and we can talk.

I bought a disc from my local photographers called topfotobook Design Manager CD. It is software then allows you to arrange your photographs onto a page and add text etc. You then save your work to a disc and take the disc back to the photographic shop and they send it away to have it printed and made into an album for you. I have seen samples of this work and it was very nicely presented. I have searched, but they do not appear to have a web site.

Search for companies which print theses for universities or ask the universities how they get their theses bound. My MSc thesis was bound as a hardback A4 book.

Otherwise talk to your local printers to find out more information.

I hope this helps

I'm doing a biography of my grandfather's war-time experiences and also about his life. Just go get what you've done published, I'd certainly read it
