How early can an ultrasound detect pregnancy?

I had an ultra sound done at 6 weeks and they could really tell if there was a baby or a cyst. At 7 weeks they are able to differentiate yolk and a sac. SO I would say around 7 weeks.

I Had An Ultra Sound Done As Early As 4 Weeks. This Was Done Because They Though It Was An Depicted Pregnancy. Unless Your Doctor Thinks That Something Is Wrong He Will Not Send You.

Why would someone have an u/s to detect pregnancy? I would imagine pretty early since the moment there's implantation the body goes into overdrive, enlarging the uterus.

Usually, the ultrasound can see the amniotic sac and the fetus around 6 - 8 weeks, but lab tests are usually done instead.
