I believe if christians are going to make a fuss over halloween the holidays they stole from Pagans should be taken back to Paganism
i understand what youre saying, Pagans celebrated winter solstice and it became christmas because the christians didnt like Pagans so they demolished thier holidays. Easter was the worship of the Goddess Astare, but the christians made that into a christian holiday as well, and the original meaning is lost somewhere in the easter bunny part.

Why not, they are as pagan as Halloween. For those not in the know: Easter was an old fertility holiday celebrated by Romans (think about the fertility symbols of rabbits, chicks, and eggs) and Christmas was an old Roman holiday celebrating the Winter Solstice. They were "christianized" by one of the popes (along with Halloween - "became" All Saints Day) because of their populatiry and the view that if they continued celebrating them as Christian days, it would make them more Christian, rather than trying to stop the holidays outright.

Wow. Excellent question. I don't speak for all Christians, but I, as a Christian don't HATE Halloween. I do not observe the holiday as most people do, but I believe that everyone has a right in this country to celebrate as they wish. It's what makes this country so great. Your question is a fair one. Since Halloween originated from a Pagan holiday and most of the traditions that Christians observe in their celebration of Christmas and Easter are taken from pagan rituals, it would seem hypocritical to denounce one and celebrate the others. I would venture to guess that most Christians who don't celebrate Halloween probably do not observe Christmas and Easter as you would expect them to. In my household, we celebrate the Harvest in place of Halloween. At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Christ (tho we know chronoligically it could not have taken place in December), and we don't usually put up a tree and give gifts. The Christmas tree has its origins from a Druid tradition. Easter, we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, so the Easter Bunny doesn't visit our doorstep. I've taught my daughter that, in all things, show respect and honor of everyone's spiritual beliefs. No one could ever convince me that my faith is not right for me, so I would not try to talk someone out of theirs -- including their holidays and religious observances. Have a great day!

Yes, I honestly do feel this way. I am Pagan, and I am so sick and tired of seeing all these hypocritical christians saying the sht they do.
You don't want to celebrate it? Go EFF off! *Takes christmas and easter and ground hogs day and just about every other holiday away* I believe these are mine.....
THANK YOU!

How was Christmas and Easter stolen from the Pagans again, I missed that story?
See, I thought that Christmas was a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, and Easter was a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I put two and two together and came up with "Christian" holidays for some wacky reason.....
