Some websites have adverts which pop up in a frame on the page to look like an actual application. These report that your computer has an error or is infected or is open to abuse and invite you to install some software. Clicking on this to close it or just clicking on it can take you to their website where they invite you to download and install a virus checker or computer checker or anti-spyware software etc.
Ignore it and either report the add to the site you were on or don't use that site.

you must have downloaded alot of things off the net.. the safe thing to do next time is to scan anything before you open it with your antivirus program.
now, to resolve it, you must better get a spybot like you can download lost of freeware spybots remover from www.download.com.
after removal, download yahoo toolbar or msn toolbar to help block popups.
but the best way to resolve all problems is to reformat and install the whole windows if you know how to do it.. before doing it, save all your wanted files elsewhere.

I had a similar experience with something like this. Using Ad-aware alone wasn't enough as the file would regenerate whenever you deleted it. Unfortunately, system restore is the only way to remove this fully that I know of. It might be possible to remove it without restoring, but I think that might be more bother than it's worth.

you can get a program called "hijack this!"
it will tell you everything running on your computer, and how it gets started.
(use discretion - just because something is running doesn't mean you need to delete it! When in doubt look up the file online and you'll learn if it's needed.)
fell free to email me if you have any questions

If it's not from a known and reliable source do not install it. It may be a virus or a scam to access your secured information.

First of all run a virus scan, download adaware, sometimes adaware will pick up stuff spy bot didn't and vice versa. Clear out all your cookies, temporary internet files, and clear your history.
