make your choice. i would legally like to be late for work 1 hr. every day. of course i would change my watch later in the day so i could go home with only working 7 hrs., lol.

The people, according to the constitution, have the right to petition the government. Therefore, if enough people wanted to, they could demand a vote on the matter. The problem is, Missouri did this once and the state legislature turned around within a couple of months and voted against the people again. There was a proposal to amend the state constitution to prohibit this, but it never went anywhere.

By the people. I can never understand why democratic governments don't like referendums. It is supposed to be government by representatives of the people but once in power they want to dictate to the very people they are supposed to take their mandate from.

The people of Michigan did vote on it a few years back. Each State can decide how they want to react or not to the time change.
You just have to get enough signatures to put it on the upcoming election ballot.
