Doesn't matter where you are, like BradM you will always be a South African. Be proud of it!!!

Edited version:

After reading most of your answers, I have to ask: Are you people stupid? Being a South African in America, Korea where ever, doesn't change you being South African.

So do you say that if an American come an stay in South Africa, now suddenly he changes into a South African? Come on people!!!!!! There is a difference between home and nationality!!!!! And "Gunner-lady" go shoot yourself please? You're pissing me off!!!! Go play GI Jane with your gun.

Hey, you were born & raised here so yes, you are South African. Me, I emmigrated here in 1981, but am proud to call SA my home. We've been through so much as a country in the past 20 or so years, that, to have lived through it & come out the other side & still be proud to be called a South African, should mean a lot to anyone who has any idea of global affairs: as for Brad M, he sounds like he joined the chicken run way back, so ignore him.

You are truly South African and so is Brad M but the way things turned out here in South Africa made him embittered. We will never know the real reason why he left this country but I bet you it was for a bloody good reason. The fact that he's still talking alot about South Africa means that his heart is still in South Africa, if he wants to admit it or not.

Hey, you are South African and so am I. The fact that we are white doesn't change the fact! South Africa is our homeland and that's where we belong. People frown when you call it home cos either they are scared of what is gonna happen to this place or if they're foreigners, they're jealous cos of the advantages we have(like maids, people to fill our cars with petrol, etc). The fact is, SA is a great place and it will not change. People won't allow it to get to stage where it's like Zimbabwe. As for Brad M, i don't know what he is on about. He most probably used to live in SA and moved because of the crime or something-don't take note of him! As for the rest of us, let's stay proudly South African and always call it home!

Home is the place you love, where your heart is, where you feel happy and content. It may be where you were born and grew up, but that is not the definition of home.

I love south africa, and even though i have the green passport, i would always call myself south african, no matter where I live, or what nationality i become.

Home is where the heart is!

Just ignore him, he can be a real hypocrite sometimes.
(He's also from SA and moved to the USA, and now he calls anyone else who moved a hypocrite. He called me that when I answered his question for the first time)
My feeling is, even if someone moves, but remain patriotic towards their country of birth, they remain a citizen of that country, even if only in their hearts.
If I marry my European partner and we stay in UK, both miles away from our original country of birth, I will still consider myself South African, because I love SA and will always return there, even if just to visit my family every year.

Of course your South American.

There tends to be a snooty snide attitude towards white people expressing their views even when they are factual like yours.

Dont worry about the fools-Just you be happy dear girl=)

Brad is American, by choice. He lost the privilege to call himself AFRICAN when he left.

You however, my sister, are EFRIKEN.
