sleep is extremely important for your body to rejuvinate yourself. everyone need 8-9 hours of sleep even if they pretend they don't. in this time your body makes chemicals that help repair damage. a good formula for disease is bad diet + not enough sleep.

You need darkness to get your brain to start making melatonin to help you fall asleep. You can take melatonin suppliments too. Make sure the room is dark. TV and computers are a really bad idea the last hour you are awake. They are light sources and will keep your brain awake.

Darkness triggers the brain to produce melatonin which helps you fall and stay asleep. If you want to sleep during the day instead of night you would be best to sleep in a very dark room or use an eye mask. I always have a less disturbing sleep at night.
