During the Vietnam era of the 60s and 70s, an activist against the "war" once asked, "If democracy is so great, why are we going around the world shoving it down people's throats with guns?" His name was Dick Gregory. When I heard that, I realized that he was so far ahead of his time. Where is someone like that when we really NEED him?

You got that right. You can not force a democracy on people that do not want it. They will always have a religous type of government. Maybe we can borrow some of that money back from Iraq and buld up the social security and medicare programs eh?

Actually, if you compare the monies spent on any other war in our country's history and given inflation - it's right on track. Also, why are you comparing OIF to Vietnam? There isn't a single actual Historian in the entire world who would agree with you. Stop using senseless and baseless talking points. Go read a book and learn something...

I'd happily kiss my lost taxes dollars goodbye forever if only we could get back the lives of the Americans who have died over there and restore the health and sanity of the ones who will never be the same because of this "war" to find Saddam,.oops, I meant Bin Laden.
