The massacre at My Lai, the indiscriminate carpet bombing of Loas, Abu Ghraib, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, genocide of native Americans, the invasion of sovereign nations, all acts committed by Americans troops in the name of the American people, are these not war crimes?
Saddam is on show trail for what he did, why has America never stood trail over the atrocities committed by them, for example what about the indiscriminate napalming of villages in Vietnam and the use of the chemical Agent Orange?

Why do you thin America refused to sign the treaty to recognise the international court of law & war crimes tribunal in The Hague. The American government has committed genocide and crimes against humanity for decades.

Iraq alone has seen the cluster bombing of civilians, ethnic cleansing, massive kidnappings, prison camps, no right to trial, banned chemical weapon usage on civilians (as per Vietnam.) Plus the systematic destruction of a sovereign state, waging war that is classified as illegal & against UN rules, theft of natural resources from a sovereign state, theft of restructure funds from the international community, etc etc.

The sad thing is that the American people have been kept in the dark and are unaware of the US clandestine activities over the last 50 years. No other nation is going to do anything either.

Don't forget the Nicaraguan Contra's, the support of Saddam Hussain, the support of Iran fighting Iraq, the creation of the Taliban, the support of General Pinochet, the El Salvador massacres, the Cambodian genocide, Indonesian massacres, Bosnia, Kosovo, Korean wars, Cuba attacks, Mexico conflict, the overthrow of democratic Iran etc. etc.

The list is endless; the civilians killed are in the millions. But US & UK make sure it's not in the mainstream media and people are too dumb to read history or resarch facts.

It has long been my view that American Presidents believe in 'Do as I say, not do as I do'.
Whether or not a war is justified their tactics have not always been designed to produce the minimum of civilian casualties as set out in the Geneva Convention.
And their constant seizing of the moral high ground is sickening:
America - the best democracy money can buy....

Wait and see. Normally only the losers are considered to be war criminals, winners are considered to have used appropriate means. One might add that, whilst one is the friend of the USA you can get away with mass murder (Halabja 1988), but you'd better not fall from grace.

The Romans, Germany, Russia, African Tribes, The entire middle east.

All of these have done things that America can NEVER match. France and its mission to conquer the Middle east was probably the worst. England didn't help it much either.

You are basing your accusation on a regularity that occurs throughout history and will continue to be done in the future.

The "attrocites" are not warcrimes. They are simply war. By your definition, all acts committed during war is a crime. Saddam is on trial for randomly killing his own people for absolutely no reason whatsoever. You can say you don't like the US's reason for "committing the attrocites" but you can't say there were no reasons at all. Get over yourself, and grow up. Mature people realize that wars suck, but are a necessary evil sometimes, and focusing on the negative side of it, will only cause you to lose your resolve, and then the war.
