No, I've always loved elephants and been aware of how they are highly socialized creatures.

Once a year I give a donation to the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. Check out that website and read their stories.

THe species of elephant is decreasing from time to time or they are on the spot of danger situation. I am an admire of wildlives such as elephants. But due to the fast growing of rural populations, they migrate to Neighbour countries & pheripherial area of the country in Africa. As an example in Ethiopia. I certainly don't limit my appreciation or respect for an animal by his/her intelligence or self-awareness. I would hope we could work to stabilize both Asian and African political and economic systems to allow these species to flourish, as well as to get population growth under control for people.

The real threat is that if we can prove an elephant can see and recognize himself/herself in a mirror, will he have to co-star with Paris Hilton in a reality tv show?
