If you are creative and good at art why not go into advertising you could freelance or just go for a permanant job, you wont have to re-train as such but you might need to take a drop in pay till you get some experience behind you and build up your portfolio. Advertising Agencies use alot of freelancers. I am a receptionist and I do really like my job.

why not approach an art gallery or museum and work form them, after all you have admin skills and can apply them their as well as do other things such as guided talks. At least that way you'll be able to get out of the office, talk to new people and have a regular pay check.
Try some of the websites for local galleries that interest you, they will list vacancies and they will tell you what you would need to get the job.

At 25 I was commuting 1 hour 30 mins each way to london every day. I was working as a programmer at an investment bank so the money was amazing but I hated it.
Now a year on, I'm living in Cyprus, the money is still OK, I have lots of responsibility and I'm 5 mins from work. Work starts at 10 although that's flexible too. Depends if I'm back from the beach in time to start. :)
Maybe look at working abroad while you're still young? I did and I won't look back.

I am a Police Officer, I had a degree but didn't know what to do, there are a lot of people who give up desk jobs to join the Police because they are bored. If you want something exciting it won't dissapoint and you may even do some good too. Sometimes its tiring but the people you work with are generally good people, the pay is ok, and there's always a story to tell!

I'm a corporate guy and I enjoy my job, not because of what I do (taxes and accounting) but because I am very blessed to work for a family of good people. The culture makes all the difference in the world.
Talk to some of your old college professors. Talk to others who have your degree. Talk to the director of a foundation that does charitable work in the arts. I don't know enough about your specific field to offer you specific advice, but network among the arts community, talk to people, and this will spawn some ideas.

I love my job as a general manager for a trademark research company. It's challenging, interesting & rewarding.
You mentioned that you had an art degree -- why not pursue something there? Or think about your other interests & go from there. Whatever you do, I wish you the best of success & happiness!
