Yes, no, and maybe.
For certain people, programming just comes natural to them; for certain people, programming is just not their cup of tea. I don't know you well enough to truly answer the question to your benefits. So, for you, the answer is maybe.
To me, programming is not hard at all. I have done computer programming for the past 12 years and am loving it. However, in the field of computers though, you will need to spend your lifetime in keeping up with the technology. So, even after I graduated from university, I still spend time on reading books to learn the new computer languages. In average, I spend 3 to 4 hours a day in keeping up with the technology

Yes, no and maybe. For some people, it is easy. For others hard. (Like fractions, some people can understand them, others are clueless).
If you want to learn programming, pick a language (they are all very similar and the concepts you learn for one work for all of them). Get a beginners book on the language (A "Dummie" or a "How to in 21 Days" type book). Follow it lesson by lesson.
Then play with the language. Try to create some simple programs of your own. Get a good reference book on the language so you can look up keywords and syntax as needed.
Most people within a few hours can go simple programming. Most people will splend the rest of their lives mastering it all.
Easier way to find out how hard it is - for you - is to buy a book and start doing it. You will either love it or hate it. (And sometimes both at the same time).
Good luck...

Yes and no. To start off with it's usually a bit of a headspin, but over time things get easier. Every so often you find a new area of programming to work in a for a while it becomes hard again, until you understand what you are doing a little better.... and so the cycle goes on.
It's not like sports where you need to do a certain amount of training every day to keep fit, but you will need to keep up with technology as it progresses - which is easier than it sounds.
All I can say is good luck, and avoid Visual Basic like the disease it is!

Programming can be easy or really difficult. It all depends on what the problem is. I would recommend getting a book or finding a good tutorial online about it. I would recommend learning Java, because it is pretty easy to learn concepts and easily transferable to other languages, and then going on to learn c++.
I wouldn't consider it as studying it, but practicing writing it. I don't know how many hours I spend writing code, it varies depending on what I am doing.

Programming is Fun,
i've never think that 'programming' is hard, cause i like it.
more hard and difficult, more loud my 'victory scream' when i finish it.
with just one 'Programming Tools' you can build any software that you want, from the simple program like phonebook to the complex Games (with directX).
and when you finish making one software :
Go ahead, do your victory dance. Celebrate a little. Brag a little.
and don't think about how many hours you should spend to learn a programming language, just do it.
Yahoo! answer will accept all your questions if you ever get stuck.

No its not. Just need to start somewhere. There are many good tutorials depending on what language you want to do. C++, Java, PHP, .NET, etc..
