It is not unpatriotic but it is financially un- American.Even if the car is manufactured here the profit from the car go overseas. This is taking money out of the country and because they do not purchase as many cars in those countries from our car companies it creates a trade imbalance

In my opinion it is not unpatriotic to buy German or Japanese cars. Since the end of the war both Germany and Japan have been allies of the USA. They also buy American products and embrace American culture.
What I think is unpatriotic are American corporations that close factories in the USA and move them to slave labor markets of Asia and south America. It is immoral and treasonable.

I BUY THE BENZ BECAUSE IT IS JUST A BETTER CAR! I USE TO BE A UNION DEMOCRAT,AFTER 1988 I SAW THE LIGHT AND CHANGED PARTIES AFTER I SAW THE DEMOCRATS TAKING OUR UNION DUES AND SCREWING US INTO THE GROUND WITH THEM! ALL THEY DO IS MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE THE VICTIM. I BUY THE BENZ BECAUSE I KNOW IT IS A SLAP IN THE FACE TO THE UNION IN AMERICA THAT SCREWED ME FOR 10 YEARS!

They buy our stuff and we buy theirs. People buy things which are fairly priced and quality products. Its as simple as it sounds. Patriotism is not same as the racism.
