We did last year. We tried to give out candy, but our daughter was born on the 23rd so she was only 8 days old. The dogs would bark at anyone who knocked on the door. So we turned off the light, and I taped a sign on the door, saying, "No Candy, Baby Sleeping"
And believe it or not that made things worse. I actually had parents come to my door demanding why we weren't giving out candy. Kids ripped the sign off the door. They ripped the wreath off of our door.
When I was little if a house didn't have a porch light on you didn't go to it. I thought that was a no brainer.

Na i dont actually turn the lights out at my house i just close all the curtains and if they still knock then i just completely ignore it...its supposed to be against the law now for people to trick or treat though i think, although i doubt if that will stop them

I haven't, but my parents do all the time. They don't believe in Halloween, nor do they give out candy. That's why they do that.

I can admit that I am guilty of this but only because I was taking the kids out and noone was home.
