Finances can often be the root cause of alot of marriage failures. The stress or the time spent away working and working and working leaves little time to nurture the relationship.
If you are just beginning in your married life; I suggest that you live within your means. If you want a large purchase such as a 62" t.v. then save the money for it and go in and pay Cash. You won't be burdened with interest payments or monthly payments. Make sure that you are also saving money no matter how much.
In the years to come it will accumulate into a nice sum.
A good rule of thumb to start with is at the minimum 10% of your income. PAY YOURSELF FIRST.
Not having to worry about bills etc...can do wonders for your sleep and stress levels.
It's not easy but if you do the above you will never be sorry.

Not at all, everyone has finacial problems weather they have too much or not enough. It just makes the couple stronger if they allow it, communicating and working together to solve the issues is the whole ticket here. It is not bad unless you and your spouce allow it to be bad. Things happen and most things are temporary. Do not give in to fighting and making things more difficult just go with the flow work hard and put you heads together so that the problems are no longer problems...

It's difficult to have money problems in any area of your life, especially marriage. But they can be worked on. You two just have to sit down and figure out where the money is going, how to change present spending habits, and agree on a plan...and stick to it.

I have heard that financial problems are one of the biggest causes for divorce in this country (USA). It doesn't have to be that way if both people are willing to compromise and work together on it. My wife and I have been through some major financial problems in the last few years but we work on things together instead of fighting about it.

It all depends on what type of money problems. If two people are working there should not be a lot of money problems. You just have to balance your checkbook and adjust your spending habits to suit both of your needs.

It is 1 of the big 3 issues in marriage you have to work it out.
I feel it is important that both the husband and wife have their own account and a joint account to handle shared living expenses

Is it bad? It sure doesn't help!
Is it normal? Yeah, most couples will have some when they start out. Hang in there, try to spend less than you bring in, and you'll get past this at some point.

It's one of the major causes of divorce, so it's something you two need to work on. It puts a LOT of stress on the relationship. Financial counseling would do you both some good.
