There are many reasons why. But in some cases the father will get the children.

Usually the man leaves as soon as the women get pregnant. Showing he does not want children.

Many man have denied being the father of a women child. Also showing he does not want children.

So the court senses this and awards the mother even if she has very little income.

But mostly women care for children more than a man does. Something they have done for centuries. Man always were away from the house or home alot, it made if diffcult to care for the children.

And theres that mother and child bond that the father has to EARN after the baby is born and while he are she grows up.

A lot of factors are involved.
But usually whoever has the most money gets to keep the child.

It is logically, in divorce cases, the mother will be given the custody of her child. This is because the mother that give birth to the child but not the father. Unless, there is record to show that the mother is not capable of taking care of the children or the children is at high risk when left with mother, then, the father will be given the custody to the child.

its messed up i know but the courts always look at these type of cases as if to say only the mother is able to know whats best for the child (which is bullshit on its own right there)
but yeh i reckon they should put the mother father thing aside and look at who gets a better income and who would be able to provide the best care for the child no matter how old he/she is
but remember with these new laws bought in fathers now actaully have more rights to there children than what the mothers do so if this has happened to you a while ago or someone you know than tell them to reopen the case and aply for custody not neccesarily sole custody but yeh it might actaully come to be that the father is given far more privelages these days compared to twenty years ago but then again the law today is messed up compared to the laws twenty years ago

They don't always....although I'll agree that it happens most of the time. Our society believes that women are the nurturers, caregivers, etc.

If this is not the case in your situation, then the burden of proof in on you to show otherwise.

As a general rule, kids usually relate better to Mom's because they are the primary caregiver. Not always, tho.

The best case scenario is to work out a custody plan that works for everyone. Some have to give and some have to take. Compromise...the kids are the ones that matter anyway. Make it easy on them, swallow your pride or whatever and make the time you have with them good. They'll thank you for it later!

The mom doesn't always get custody. A significant portion of the time, however, they do, because mothers are viewed as better caretakers under normal circumstances. However, if a child is over the age of 12, in most states, they are allowed to choose which parent they want to live with. Fathers often don't fight hard enough for their children, or they do it the wrong way.

depends on the state your in. In Texas(and most states), it is what is in the best interest of the child. In Texas the rule is that joint custody is assumed unless one of the parents is dead or there is some other compelling reason not to have joint. So that part of your answer would be C. However, the mothers typically get what is call primary custody over the fathers, meaning they have the child more often. And, that goes to answer B.

Most men I have found really don't want custody, they are just trying to get out of paying child support. My loser ex-husband fought me in court making me run up all kinds of lawyer bills. Once I finally got custody, the loser only saw our daughter twice a year for her birthday and christmas. He would then bring her a load of money that was way too much for a young girl making matters much worse. He is a ma ma's boy who never grew up because his loser mother never made him act like a man. He is pathetic and the sooner he leaves this earth, the happier I will be.

Not always. If the father can prove the mother is unfit, he has a better chance of getting the child/children. How ever I went through a divorce with my ex husband and we have split cusody of our girls. He's a good dad.

it is most of the time and it is bullsh*t. Fathers are just as important as mothers. I don't think the system is fair..Fortunatly for me I did win and get custody but it was an uphill fight to get it. I had to prove my point or else they would have just given her to her mother. She did not have to prove anything. Then I also had to fight with her grandmother for her also. Why the grandmother would even have a say I don't know but the Judge listened to her anyways..... They system is screwed..
