I'm thinking of buying my wife a dvd as a stocking filler for Christmas. She likes nothing better than a good weepie. Any ladies got any good ones to recommend? Thanks.

The Notebook or A Walk to Remember

On behalf of my wife, I would recommend "A Walk to Remember." This is actually a movie I was able to deal with (I'm not a big fan of these types of movies), and I did actually enjoy it a lot. If you think your wife is going to make you sit through a weepy movie, take this one. It hits you straight to the heart, and Mandy Moore, though I don't really consider her an actress, was a very beleivable character. My wife loved it and cried her eyes out.

Secondly, if you are into foreign productions, Koreans are very good at making things very emotional. If you come accross it, I would suggest 100% to get "Stairway to Heaven." It is a very good miniseries (18 full hour episodes) and also will get your wife sobbing away. Again, this one you would like too.

Pay it forward. Even makes my hubby cry ;)
While you were sleeping
The original King Kong (breaks my heart, can't watch it at all)
Philidelphia
Green mile

You know, I think I will give up as I could probably give you a hundred films that make me cry but aren't generally known as weepies. I never realised I was sensitive!

An old film called "Who will love my children" about a woman who has canser and is trying to find new homes for each of her 7 children as she beleives her husband wouldnt cope (set in the days when dads worked and mums stayed at home)

I was a mess after watching that, I had a puffy face for a week.

Arrgg! I was going to recomend my newest most weepy weepy and now I can't remember the title! It's the boxing one with Clint Eastwood as the trainer who reluctantly takes on a woman boxer. Grr. something- baby I think. Cried myself silly!

What a sweet idea.

The Green Mile is great for tears, but I'm not too sure if that's what you want to give away for Christmas.

How about The Muppet Christmas Carol? Really sweet & I used to watch it every year at Christmas even before the kids... :)
