I am not sure how this happend I tried to turn off my computer one day and had a hard time doing so, so i unplugged my computer. " Think I have some kind of virus!!" Later I came back to my computer and tried to to turn it on, it seemed that the computer turned on fine booted up regularly but the screen said it was doing a screen check then went into power save and I can't get into my computer now. I tried moving the mouse, checking all the connections for the screen. I am not sure what has happend but i know everything is conected correctly because if i unplug the screen from the computer it turns on checking monitor as well as if I plug it back in. Mybe someone could help me with this.

Check to see if you can boot up in DOS. If you can it is a Windows s/w problem. However, if you can not. Your video card might be loose. If it is, open the case and re-seat the video board.

It may well be that your power setting are set so that your computer is going into hibernation rather than sleep mode - have you tried the power button on your keyboard (or sometimes the power button on your drive will take this function).

If this has not been set (some PCs won't let any other button or mouse-movement bring your PC out of hibernation), you may have to force-reboot by holding in the power button on your drive for a few seconds).

Once re-booted, to ensure you don't end up in this situation again, go into power settings (via control panel), and either adjust the setting for the power button accordingly; or alternatively disable the hibernation function all together.

If you have any extra cords try those, it could be that or if you have an old monitor or something like that try that too.
