Artificial leather. Belts, coats, bags, records and shoes are made out of it and is cheaper to buy than leather. It usually has a shiny surface to it and is commonly known as pvc leather and can be pretty tacky to wear if you are not fashion conscious. A lot of people in the sixties wore it when it was made fashionable, but it still is today because it is cheaper to manufactuer and distribute. The main colours are black and white, but you can get it in other colours too.

vinyl leather(or pleather) is a modern form of patent leather, used to replace real leather (less expensive, easier to cut to shape for clothing etc.)hope this helps.
