I had to re-format and re-install windows because my daughter tried to play a music CD and the sound and internet both stopped working.now i can`t get the drivers to install just keeps saying , windows cannot find a better driver but there are no drivers to begin with.

I would go on Gateway's website or call them up. All you need to do is re-install all of you drivers and everything should be back to working perfect.

If you happen to be un-tech-savy have a friend or family member do it. Did you get a Drivers CD when you purchased the computer? You could just use that instead of going online.

Windows has it's own set of generic drivers, they are only meant to get things running, you must go onto the net (when you can) and download the latest drivers.
